Description
Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish heritage lists. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.
This 25-year-old Laphroaig celebrates the life of Bessie Williamson, a Laphroaig distillery icon and one of the first female distillery managers to own a Scotch whisky distillery in the 20th century.
