Description
The Benromach Distillery in Forres, Scotland, which was founded in 1898, has had an eventful history. After several closures and reopenings, it has experienced an impressive renaissance since 1998 and now shines in all its glory.
The Benromach Peat Smoke is a limited edition single malt that is produced in small batches. Carefully selected barley is used for its production, which is dried with intense peat smoke. The barley malt has a high phenol content of 35 ppm, which gives the whisky its distinctive and unmistakable smoky aroma. After distillation, the whisky matures for years in first-fill American bourbon casks, which gives it its characteristic taste.
The result is a single malt that impresses with a powerful smoky character while retaining the typical elegance and fruitiness of Benromach.
