The Benromach 12 Years Old HIGH ENZYME is a remarkable single malt whisky from the renowned Benromach Distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. This limited edition whisky was distilled in 2012 and matured for over twelve years in first-fill bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2024. With an alcohol content of 46% vol., it is presented at natural cask strength and without chill filtration, which underlines its authentic and unadulterated characteristics.
A special feature of this whisky is the use of unpeated high-enzyme barley, which is usually used in grain whisky production. This special type of barley contributes to a unique flavor profile that sets it apart from traditional single malts. The maturation in first-fill bourbon barrels also gives the whisky fresh fruity notes and a pleasant sweetness.
