With the limited edition Ardbeg Smokiverse, the Islay distillery is celebrating its 25th Ardbeg Committee anniversary in spectacular fashion. This release is not only a milestone, but also proof of the distillery’s constant drive for innovation. At the heart of this bottling is a fascinating technical approach: high gravity mashing – a pioneering variation of the mashing process in which the amount of water is drastically reduced and an even higher concentration of barley malt is used.

This extreme compression in the mash tun, one of the central elements of production at Ardbeg, created a densely structured wort. The result is a whisky that impresses with its particularly fruity ester aromas, sweet depth and strong smokiness. The result is a new dimension of Ardbeg, combining the distillery’s heritage with futuristic technology. Smokiverse is produced in small batches, each with its own character. Bottled at 48.3% vol., non-chill-filtered and natural, this edition offers an intense and complex taste experience.
