Description
This rum is characterized by the climatic conditions of the Central American state of Nicaragua. It is produced by the Compania Licorera de Nicaragua, which has been based in Managua since 1890. But the distillery is not located in Managua. This is near the sugar factory in Chichigalpa – about 120 kilometers from Managua.
This rum takes its name from the volcano of the same name, Mombacho, which is located near the distillery on the shores of Lake Nigaragua.
This Mombacho matures for 21 years in ex-bourbon barrels and receives its finish in Porto wine barrels.
