Description
Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish heritage lists. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, which is only found on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich taste.
The Laphroaig 33 Years Old is a limited edition which is dedicated to Ian Hunter. Ian Hunter ran the distillery from 1908 to 1944, he is the last descendant of the Johnston family. Each new “Ian Hunter” bottling includes a booklet with another chapter of the distillery’s history.
The edition “The Ian Hunter Story Book 3” is stored for 33 years in former oak bourbon casks.
A limited bottling.
