Description

Caol Ila (pronounced “Cull Eela”) is Gaelic for “The Sound of Islay”, the strait that separates the Hebridean islands of Islay and Jura.

Somewhat hidden on the rugged east coast, fine smoky whiskies have been produced there by the islanders since 1846.

The barley used is still malted in Port Ellen, the pure spring water comes from Loch Nam Ban limestone.

A second maturation process in a muscatel wood cask gives this whisky a distinctive, full-bodied fruity & complex sweetness.
