Description
The modern Amrut distillery has its roots in 1948, when Indians began to distill their own whiskey. Due to the hot Indian climate, about 12-15% of the whiskey evaporates every year, this phenomenon is known as “Angel’s Share”.
Distillation and maturation takes place high above sea level in Bangalore, which is why maturation is 3-4 times faster than in Scotland.
This whisky is made from 99% unpeated malted barley and 1% peated malted barley. The sherry finish allows it to develop a variety of aromas and flavors ranging from peat to fresh fruit.
This combination creates a unique and complex taste experience.
